Play isn't just for children.

Play-based approaches are proven to be effective for adults as they enhance engagement, motivation and cognitive function. I also design my sessions be a lot more inclusive than typical approaches, creating an environment where participants contribute more equally and feel comfortable to share honestly.

approaches and values, giving participants the time and space to consider new ideas and their relationships to them.

”I got to open up a lot more to people I haven’t opened up around”

“I thought the best part about the session was that it gave more introverted members of the group an equal chance to contribute and share their opinion.”

” A great creative way to explore a complex and raw situation"

“I enjoyed the freedom of expression using the LEGO. It made me think more about how issues can be represented and resolved.”

”A great session. It was a more modern approach to problem solving, that was both thought provoking and enjoyable."

”The LEGO was a great way to bring out different ideas, and Louisa was very good at getting the most out of the group and having fun with it."

What does playful facilitation look like in practice?

Values_Inclusive_1_edited.jpg

Every session will have a bespoke design to suit your specific needs; I'll not only be considering the topic you'd like to explore or embed but also the size and dynamic of the group taking part. I want everyone to get the most out of the time we spend together!

A common tool I use is LEGO® Serious Play® as it's a great way to get everyone engaged and sharing.

But I'll often complement LEGO® Serious Play® with a number of other techniques and activities as we allow time for attendees to consider and respond to core questions being asked.

The key balance we're looking to strike is between providing individual's thinking / processing time and nurturing opportunities for thoughts and ideas to be shared and discussed.

There are some questions and topics which lend themselves particularly well to playful facilitation, for example...

What would 'purposeful' look like for our organisation?

What are organisational Values and which Values would best suit us?

How can we improve the culture of our organisation?

What would a meaningful approach to Social Impact look like for our organisation?

What are our most significant impact areas?

Understanding organisational Values and how they can be applied to our day-to-day.

Engaging key stakeholders to gather more meaningful feedback in a way that aligns with our Values.

Strengthening team dynamics through wider discussion of roles, dependencies and opportunities for collaboration.

Reflecting on recent or ongoing change (organisation or cultural), providing constructive solutions where difficulties are identified.
